This week in Israel is Parshat  Beha'alotecha  (Numbers 8:1–12:16) — where Aaron is commanded to raise the light in the lamps of the Menorah, and the tribe of Levi is initiated into the service in the Sanctuary. Perfect — the Kohanim and Levi'im in their full glory! Now here's your Torah Shir: --- Shabbat Shalom!  🕯️ This week is Parshat  Beha'alotecha  — "When you raise the light" — and what a parsha for this moment in the world. Aharon doesn't just light a Menorah, he  lifts  it — the verb בְּהַעֲלֹתְךָ means to elevate, to cause to ascend. That's the Kohen's whole job: taking the earthly and raising it heavenward. The crown jewel of the parsha (and really of the entire Torah) is  Birkat Kohanim  — the three-line priestly blessing that HaShem Himself composed and gave to the Kohanim to deliver. Trust in Hashem for everything!!!

This week, we read the double portion of  Acharei Mot-Kedoshim , and there is a powerful connection between these verses and the idea of living with the constant awareness that we are in the hands of  Hashem . 🕯️ Living in the Hands of Hashem: A Message from Acharei Mot-Kedoshim The parsha of  Kedoshim  begins with a famous command: "You shall be holy, for I, Hashem your G-d, am holy."  (Leviticus 19:2) At first glance, "holiness" sounds like something distant or angelic. But as the parsha continues, we see that Hashem defines holiness through very "down-to-earth" actions: how we treat our parents, how we conduct business, and how we leave corner of our fields for the poor. בשׁם יוסף שלמה הכהן: למי שיש בו רוב מידות טובות – כך ביררנו מלימוד שפת אמת – כל דבר שהוא בא במגע עמו מקבל ניצוצות של קדושה. מפני שהאדם המתוקן פועל מתוך טהרת הלב, הוא מעלה את המציאות שסביבו ומכוון אותה לטוב, עד שגם עניינים גשמיים ופשוטים נהפכים לכלי לעבודת ה'. וזוהי במיוחד מידת הכהנים: הם נושאים בתוכם חסד, שלום ואהבת הבריות, ולכן בכוחם תמיד להפוך מצבים לטובה. כמו שברכת כהנים אינה רק מילים, אלא המשכה של שפע ותיקון לעולם, כך כל מעשה של כהן פועל תיקון והעלאה. וזהו גם עומק פחדו של פרעה, שנאמר: "פן ירבה" – לא רק ריבוי במספר פחד ממנו, אלא ריבוי של תיקון וקדושה. פרעה חש שהעם ישראל, בהיותם בעלי מידות מתוקנות, יהפכו את מצרים עצמה, מקום הטומאה, למקום שיש בו אור. כי כאשר הטוב הוא הרוב, אפילו החושך נכנע לו. ומכאן נלמד, שכאשר אדם – ובפרט כהן – עובד על מידותיו ומרבה בטוב, כל מקום שהוא מגיע אליו מתברך, וכל מצב נהפך לכלי של קדושה ותיקון.
