1. התקהלות העם

הפרשה מתחילה במילים:

"וַיַּקְהֵל מֹשֶׁה"

משה רבנו מקהיל את כל עם ישראל לפני שהוא מלמד אותם על בניית המשכן.

יש כאן יסוד גדול:

קדושה מתחילה באחדות.

לפני שבונים בית לה', עם ישראל צריך להיות קהילה אחת.

חז״ל מלמדים דבר עמוק:

כאשר יהודים מתאספים למען מטרה קדושה, השכינה שורה ביניהם.

לכן לימוד תורה בציבור, תפילה במניין ולימוד בחברותא הם דברים בעלי כוח גדול.

2. השבת לפני המשכן

לפני שמשה מדבר על בניית המשכן, הוא מזכיר את מצוות השבת.

מדוע?

מפני שאפילו בניית המשכן – המקום הקדוש ביותר בעולם – אינה דוחה את השבת.

המסר הוא עמוק:

קדושה איננה רק בבניית מקומות קדושים.

לפעמים הקדושה נמצאת דווקא ביכולת לעצור.

השבת מלמדת אותנו:

העולם איננו נשלט רק על ידי המאמץ האנושי.

הכול מגיע מ־הקדוש ברוך הוא.

3. כוח הנדיבות

התורה מתארת את התרומות למשכן.

זהב, כסף, צמר, עצים, אבנים יקרות – הכול ניתן ברצון טוב.

מתרחש דבר מדהים:

בסופו של דבר משה מבקש מן העם להפסיק להביא תרומות, מפני שיש יותר מדי.

זו אחת הפעמים היחידות בהיסטוריה שבה מסע גיוס תרומות הצליח יותר מדי.

מדוע?

מפני שעם ישראל הבין דבר חשוב:

כאשר אדם נותן למען קדושה, הוא בעצם בונה דבר נצחי.

4. האומנים: חכמה מאת ה'

הבונים המרכזיים של המשכן הם:

בצלאל

ואהליאב

התורה אומרת שהקדוש ברוך הוא מילא אותם:

בחכמה

בתבונה

ובדעת

המפרשים מסבירים דבר מופלא:

אותן שלוש מידות שבהן ברא הקדוש ברוך הוא את העולם ניתנו גם לבוני המשכן.

כלומר:

בניית המשכן היא מעין יצירה מחודשת של העולם בזעיר אנפין.

המשכן משקף את כל הבריאה.

5. השלמת המשכן

בסוף הפרשה המשכן מושלם.

ואז מתרחש דבר עצום:

ענן ממלא את המשכן וכבוד ה' שוכן עליו.

השכינה שורה כעת בתוך מחנה ישראל.

כך מתקיים הפסוק:

"ועשו לי מקדש ושכנתי בתוכם."

שימו לב לדבר חשוב:

הפסוק אינו אומר "ושכנתי בתוכו".

אלא אומר:

"ושכנתי בתוכם."

כלומר:

המשכן האמיתי הוא עם ישראל עצמו.

המסר המעשי

כל יהודי יכול לבנות משכן אישי.

כיצד?

שלושה דברים פשוטים:

1. הנחת תפילין – להפוך את הגוף לכלי של קדושה
2. לימוד תורה – למלא את המחשבה באור
3. חסד והכרת תודה – להפוך את הלב למקום לשכינה

כאשר אדם חי כך, השכינה שורה עמו.

כאשר עם ישראל מתאחד, נותן בנדיבות, ומקדיש את מעשיו לה', הוא יוצר מקום שבו השכינה יכולה לשכון בעולם.

Parashat Vayakhel–Pekudei

Theme: Building a Place for the Divine Presence

1. The Gathering of the People

The parsha begins with the words:

"Vayakhel Moshe"

Moshe Rabbeinu gathers the entire Jewish people before teaching them about the building of the Mishkan.

There is a great principle here:

Holiness begins with unity.

Before building a house for Hashem, the Jewish people must become one community.

Our sages teach something deep:

When Jews gather for a holy purpose, the Divine Presence rests among them.

This is why Torah learning in groups, prayer with a minyan, and learning with a chavruta have great power.

2. Shabbat Before the Mishkan

Before Moshe speaks about building the Mishkan, he reminds the people about the commandment of Shabbat.

Why?

Because even the building of the Mishkan — the holiest structure in the world — does not override Shabbat.

The message is deep:

Holiness is not only found in building sacred places.

Sometimes holiness is found in the ability to stop.

Shabbat teaches us:

The world is not controlled only by human effort.

Everything comes from the Holy One, Blessed be He.

3. The Power of Generosity

The Torah describes the donations for the Mishkan.

Gold, silver, wool, wood, precious stones — everything was given willingly.

Something amazing happens:

Eventually Moshe tells the people to stop bringing donations, because there is too much.

This is one of the only times in history where a fundraising campaign succeeded too well.

Why?

Because the Jewish people understood something important:

When a person gives for holiness, they are actually building something eternal.

4. The Craftsmen: Wisdom From Hashem

The main builders of the Mishkan are:

Betzalel

and Oholiav.

The Torah says that the Holy One filled them with:

Wisdom

Understanding

Knowledge

The commentators explain something remarkable:

The same three qualities through which Hashem created the world were given to the builders of the Mishkan.

Meaning:

Building the Mishkan is like recreating the world in miniature.

The Mishkan reflects the entire creation.

5. The Completion of the Mishkan

At the end of the parsha the Mishkan is completed.

Then something extraordinary happens:

A cloud fills the Mishkan and the glory of Hashem rests upon it.

The Divine Presence now dwells among the Jewish people.

This fulfills the verse:

"Make for Me a sanctuary and I will dwell among them."

Notice something important:

The verse does not say "I will dwell in it."

It says:

"I will dwell among them."

Meaning:

The true Mishkan is the Jewish people themselves.

Practical Message

Every Jew can build a personal Mishkan.

How?

Three simple things:

1. Putting on tefillin — making the body a vessel for holiness
2. Learning Torah — filling the mind with light
3. Kindness and gratitude — making the heart a dwelling place for the Divine Presence

When a person lives this way, the Divine Presence rests with them.

When the Jewish people unite, give generously, and dedicate their actions to Hashem, they create a place where the Divine Presence can dwell in the world.
